Kyle Busch Motorsports announced that Tayler Malsam, the driver of its No. 56 Camping World Truck Series Toyota will leave the team to drive the No. 10 Nationwide Series Toyota for Braun Racing. As a result, the No. 56 will not participate in the remaining truck series races.
While battling for the lead late in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway, Johnny Sauter and Ron Hornaday made contact, causing both cars to slide sideways. Sauter brushed the wall, but both saved their trucks without spinning. Sauter was able to correct a bit quicker than Hornaday, which allowed him to maintain the lead. He went on to win the race.
According to SceneDaily, Kyle Busch Motorsports, which was formed last month, has crew chiefs in place. Eric Phillips, who was with Randy Moss Motorsports recently, will serve as crew cheif for the Toyota shared by Busch and Brian Ickler. Kyle Busch announced that he has purchased the assets of Xpress Motorsports, and is starting his own Camping World Truck Series team, Kyle Busch Motorsports. Busch will drive for his own team, as will Brian Ickler and Tayler Malsam. Johnny Benson may also drive for KBM, pending sponsorship.
