NASCAR has penalized three Sprint Cup Series teams for infractions found during opening day inspection at Talladega Superspeedway: Michael Waltrip Racing’s Nos. 00 and 56, and JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47.

After his 22nd-place finish in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway driving for Stavola Labonte Racing, the team announced that Labonte would return to the No. 10 Gander Mountain Chevy in the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
