NASCAR announces the 2012 Sprint Cup Series schedule. Among the changes, Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway swap Chase dates.
Auto Club Speedway announced that it will shorten its 2011 Sprint Cup Series race from 500 miles to 400 miles, citing a successful experience last October, when the race was 400 miles instead of 500.
Rick Ware Racing has announced that Kerry and Jeffrey Earnhardt will drive its Chevys for several races this Nationwide season. Matt Kenseth survived a late battle with Jeff Gordon, and several cautions for rain to win the Auto Club 500 from Auto Club Speedway. The win makes him the first person to win the first two races of the season since Gordon did it in 1997.
