TRG Motorsports announced that Doug Randolph will serve as crew chief for the No. 71 Sprint Cup Series team, and driver Bobby Labonte. Randolph most recently served in the same position for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 and driver Casey Mears. He replaces Richard “Slugger” Labbe who was released last week.
Danica Patrick announced on Tuesday that she has signed with JR Motorsports to run a part time Nationwide Series schedule in 2010. She will also enter the ARCA Series season opener in order to get NASCAR approval for the N’wide Race.
Kevin Harvick Inc announced that Rick Ren, crew chief of the Camping World Truck Series’ current Champion, Ron Hornaday, is leaving the organization to pursue a management opportunity within the sport, according to NASCAR.com.
Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that it has signed veteran driver Mike Bliss to pilot its No. 36 Wave Energy Drink Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series next season. Michael McDowell will also pilot a TBR car with Wave Energy Drink as the primary sponsor in select Sprint Cup races next season.
TRG Motorsports announced that the team has parted ways with crew chief Richard “Slugger” Labbe. Labbe served as crew chief for the team’s No. 71, which will be driven by Bobby Labonte next season. TRG is currently in discussions with other crew chiefs.
According to Foxsports, Steve Addington cleaned out his office at Joe Gibbs Racing, after six seasons with the team. He is rumored to be headed to Penske Championship Racing’s No. 2 with driver Kurt Busch, or to Richard Petty Motorsports’s No. 19 with Elliott Sadler.
Penske Championship Racing has announced that Jay Guy will serve as crew chief for the No. 12 Dodge Sprint Cup Series team, and driver Brad Keselowski next season.
