Brown-Forman, parent company of Jack Daniels, will conclude its sponsorship of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 and driver Casey Mears at the end of the season.
Mark Martin held off a strong Juan Montoya on back-to-back restarts to win the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway under caution. The win is Martin’s fifth of the season, and it allowed him to expand his points lead after the first race in the Chase.
Kevin Harvick had a faster truck than race leader Kyle Busch in the closing laps of the Helluva Good! 200. He wanted his Kevin Harvick Inc teammate Ron Hornaday to move over to allow him to run down Busch. But, the message couldn’t be relayed, resulting in Hornaday and Harvick battling hard, allowing Busch to win.
Following Sunday’s race, the left front of Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Toyota was found to be too low. Busch, who finished fifth in the race, could face penatlies.
Mark Martin has signed a contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports that will keep him in the No. 5 Chevy through the 2011 season. GoDaddy.com has also signed on to sponsor the car for 20 races.

After months of speculation that Red Bull Racing would switch to Chevys next season, the team announced that they have re-signed with Toyota. The agreement continues a three-year deal between RBR and Toyota.

JR Motorsports has signed Kelly Bires to drive one of its Nationwide Chevys next season, replacing Brad Keselowski, who is leaving to join Penske Championship Racing in Sprint Cup next season. While Bires is Keselowski’s replacement, it has not been decided whether he will run the No. 5 or No. 88.
