Johnson Returns To Championship Form

jjdover1 Johnson Returns To Championship FormJimmie Johnson showed the other Chase drivers that he is in Championship form, dominating the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway. Johnson led for 271 of 400 laps, and he pulled to within 10 points of the points-lead. Hendrick Motorsports teammate, and points-leader, Mark Martin finished second.

Top 5: Johnson, Martin, Matt Kenseth, Jaun Montoya, and Kurt Busch.

Jeff Gordon, AJ Allmendinger, Kasey Kane, Tony Stewart, and Ryan Newman finished sixth through 10th, respectively.

Notables: Carl Edwards (11th), Kevin Harvick (12th), Greg Biffle (13th), Clint Bowyer (15th), Jeff Burton (16th), Brian Vickers (18th), Dale Earnhardt Jr (20th), Denny Hamlin (22nd), and Kyle Busch (31st).

Joey Logano took a wild ride when he moved down to pass Bobby Labonte on the inside. Labonte also moved down, forcing Logano to check up. Tony Stewart — who was running behind Logano at the time — got into the back of him at the same time that Labonte’s left rear quarter panel made contact with Logano’s right front.

Logano slid through the grass, back up on to the track in the corner. Reed Sorenson then hit Logano, spinning him into the outside wall. Sorenson then hit him again, sending his car rolling down the track. In all the car rolled seven time.

Sorenson, Martin Truex Jr, Scott Speed, and Robby Gordon were all involved.

Logano was okay. He walked away from the crash. See the video:
