A mistake on pit road cost Carl Edwards the lead in the closing laps of the Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park. But, after a hard battle with Kyle Busch, Edwards passed him and cruised to victory.
Busch finished second, his eigth consecutive top-two finish.
Top 5: Edwards, Busch, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Steve Wallace.
Ron Hornaday, Trevor Bayne, Jason Leffler, Scott Wimmer, and Kenny Hamlin rounded out the top 10.
Notables: David Reutimann (11th), Steven Leicht (13th), Aric Almirola (14th), Justin Allgaier (21st), and Kelly Bires (39th).
Edwards said:
While I was searching for gears, Kyle Busch got ahead of us, The 18 car [Busch] had a good stop, and then the race was on. It was a pretty good battle. It was a lot of fun. That was hard, hard racing. It meant a lot to get the win here. This is a very special race for me.
