Edwards Wins Kroger 200

edwardsvit1 Edwards Wins Kroger 200A mistake on pit road cost Carl Edwards the lead in the closing laps of the Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park. But, after a hard battle with Kyle Busch, Edwards passed him and cruised to victory.

Busch finished second, his eigth consecutive top-two finish.

Top 5: Edwards, Busch, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Steve Wallace.

Ron Hornaday, Trevor Bayne, Jason Leffler, Scott Wimmer, and Kenny Hamlin rounded out the top 10.

Notables: David Reutimann (11th), Steven Leicht (13th), Aric Almirola (14th), Justin Allgaier (21st), and Kelly Bires (39th).

Edwards said:

While I was searching for gears, Kyle Busch got ahead of us, The 18 car [Busch] had a good stop, and then the race was on. It was a pretty good battle. It was a lot of fun. That was hard, hard racing. It meant a lot to get the win here. This is a very special race for me.
